Saturday School (SS) challenges participants with multidisciplinary classes that dissect, question, and illuminate various aspects of everyday life. SS is ongoing, continually inviting cultural producers who represent a variety of professional practices to participate in the temporary and nomadic teaching institution. Each instructor is asked to teach a course about something in which they are truly interested. Their lesson plans intersect many aspects of everyday life, their practices and their personal interests.

Cultural Hacking
Presented by Yucef Merhi

This course explores different ways of hacking our culture. The starting point will be the etymology of hacker and then we will make emphasis in how art and artists can contribute in expanding and increasing our social, political, and humanistic level of consciousness. The class will discuss and analyze some examples taken from diverse areas, including philosophy, science, filmmaking, and contemporary art.

Yucef Merhi is an artist and poet based in New York. Merhi’s career include a world wide exhibition record with shows in major museums, such as the New Museum of Contemporary Art, in New York; Galería de Arte Nacional, in Caracas; Paço das Artes, in Sao Paulo, and the Borusan Culture & Art Center, in Istanbul; among many others. More recently, his work was been featured at the 7th International Festival of New Film, in Split, Croatia; El Museo del Barrio Biennial , located in New York; as well as The Project, in Los Angeles, California. FINAL MODEL

SUPER BIG CONTEXT MODEL :0

So the teacher told us to make an art school, more specifically a music and dance school, so the design here is pretty simple, it consists of two parts, the front which houses the classrooms and school offices and the back which houses the theatre.

The main stairs (bottom left) are located at the center, they are circular and they turn around an elevator, you cant really see it here, since i never built those into the model but they did made it into the floor plans haha, anyway the walls of the classrooms are translucid so you have a some very interesting lighting imho.

Anyways i have uploaded countless pictures of this model but this are pictures of the context model, ironically i live in one of the context houses <,<.... the teacher chose that terrain of all the terrains in the city and i live 20 meters away from it.... ah well :3 ...it was destiny
