Art Deco Cocktail Set

Another picture of the cocktail set.

The chrome cocktail cups with the circular speed rings on the bases and cobalt glass inserts are also very rare, and the design is often attributed to industrial designer, Walter Von Nessen. The use of speed rings was a popular Art Deco design element. I also have examples of these same cups made in copper with brass speed rings that apparently used clear glass inserts.

One of the best part of collecting Art Deco items it that you can mix and match them for display purposes, and usually, any combination looks great together!

Although there were many cocktail items (usually shakers, glasses, and trays) that were designed as sets during the 1930's, this specific group of items was not designed as a set, but it still looks amazing together.

Cellen van oneindigheid / Units of Infinity 2011

Z33 Production assignment

The starting point for Units of Infinity is the city that lies behind the facades. All the religious interiors of one particular city (Antwerp) are recorded in pictures and sound recordings. The spaces are often set within strict social systems, voluntarily isolated through rigid rituals and all-encompassing beliefs. Units of Infinity seeks to represent the thin boundaries between intimacy, interior, identity and politics through a jumble of images and sounds that overlap, neutralize and enhance. They are brought together in a confined panoptic space that seeks to outclass the triangle of the all-seeing metaphysical eye.
